Bruins' defenseman Aaron Ward left Wednesday?s 2-1 victory over the Penguins early in the second period with a throat injury. Ward was attended to by Boston?s trainer and retreated to the locker room after a collision with Pittsburgh defenseman Sergei Gonchar at 4:05 of the middle period. After being checked over in the locker room, Ward was taken to a local hospital for further examination. He will remain under observation overnight.

The slumping Senators welcomed back one of their superstars Thursday night, and he did not disappoint. Dany Heatley returned from a shoulder injury and scored two goals, including a game-winner on the power play at 7:26 of the third period, as the Senators halted a three-game losing streak with a 5-4 victory over the Panthers, as reported by Yahoo Sports.

Kings captain Rob Blake is expected to miss two weeks with a broken left ankle, according to a report Saturday in the Los Angeles Times. The seven-time All-Star's presence was sorely missed Saturday night as the Kings suffered a 6-3 loss to the Devils.
